How the Matrix Works
Each row represents a grouping (topic, tag, funnel stage, or individual prompt), and each column represents an AI provider (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, etc.). Each cell displays your brand’s ranking among your competitors for that combination. The ranking is shown as#rank/total (e.g., #2/8 means you rank 2nd out of 8 competitors tracked). Below the ranking, the cell also shows the average value of the selected metric across that provider column.
Ranking Colors
Cell colors are based on your ranking position relative to competitors:
A Coverage column on the right shows the percentage of providers where your brand is mentioned or cited at least once.
Metric Selector
Use the metric dropdown above the matrix to choose which metric the rankings and averages are based on:
Switching the metric updates the entire matrix — rankings, colors, and averages all reflect the selected metric.
Granularity Modes
Use the tabs above the matrix to switch between four views:If you have exactly one topic or tag selected in the global filters, the corresponding tab is hidden automatically — there’s no need for a single-row breakdown.
Sorting
Click any column header to sort the matrix:- Name — alphabetical
- Coverage — by coverage percentage
- Provider column — by ranking on that specific provider
Cell Detail Panel
Click any cell to open a detail panel on the right. It shows:Sub-Metric Rankings
Each sub-metric displays your brand’s ranking among competitors (#rank/total), color-coded by ranking position (same color scheme as the matrix cells). This lets you quickly identify which specific dimensions are dragging your overall position down.
